Boger, Mumma honored at Washington County Technical School

Zachary Boger and Katelyn Mumma were named students of the month for May at Washington County Technical High School.

Boger is a senior in the pre-engineering program at Tech High, where he is carrying a 3.75 grade- point average, with a course schedule that includes two advanced placement classes and an honors class.

In pre-engineering, Boger’s senior design project is a custom dog safety harness that will help keep a dog calm while riding in a vehicle.

Outside of school, Boger is a member of Boy Scout Troop 17 in Williamsport, where he hopes to earn the rank of Eagle Scout.

Following graduation, he plans to attend Hagerstown Community College and pursue an associate degree in engineering, then transfer to Florida Institute of Technology, where he hopes to earn a master’s degree in mechanical engineering.

Mumma is a junior in the Project Lead the Way biomedical science program at Tech High. Her home school is Williamsport High.

Along with biomedical science, she is enrolled in three advanced-placement classes and one honors class. Mumma is maintaining a 4.22 grade- point average.

Her hobbies include scuba diving classes and volunteering at the Humane Society of Washington County. She plans to attend a four-year college and major in marine biology.
