Westbound Interstate 70 lanes reopened after single-vehicle accident forces closures

June 02, 2013

The westbound lanes of Interstate 70 at the 29-mile marker are open again after a single-vehicle accident forced their closure for about two hours, a Washington County 911 supervisor said.

The crash in the area of the Sharpsburg Pike interchange is being investigated by state police, the supervisor said.

A Maryland State Police spokesman said a vehicle struck a guardrail, but he was not sure of the extent of injuries.
