Gary Leo Proctor, 62, of 11671 Big Pool Road in Clear Spring, Md., passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at the home of his son.

Born Wednesday, July 19, 1950, in Bedford County, Pa., he was the son of the late Lawrence Proctor and the late Betty (Donivan) Cordell.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War.

He was employed by Mack Trucks Inc. for 43 years.

He was a member of UAW Local 171 and Hancock American Legion.

Gary was an avid race fan and was the owner of Proctor Racing. He especially enjoyed spending time racing with his sons and their families.

He is survived by his stepfather, Paul Cordell of Hagerstown, Md.; former wife and friend, Connie Proctor of Hagerstown; sons, Gary L. Proctor and wife, Carrie, of Big Pool, Md., Jason D. Proctor and wife, Heather, of Clear Spring, and Dustin J. Proctor and wife, Jena, of Martinsburg, W.Va.; sisters, Beverly Shuey, Betty Proctor, Debbie Hartman and Lisa Widmyer, all of Hagerstown; brother, L. William Proctor of Hagerstown; grandchildren, Adam, Kelsey, David, Cameron and Bentley Proctor; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be Saturday, June 1, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, with the Rev. R. William Wyand officiating. Interment will be at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Friday, May 31, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
