Big Brothers Big Sisters thanks Turner’s Dual Lanes

To the editor:

Todd Smith, manager of Turner’s Dual Lanes, has been hosting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Washington County’s (BBBS) annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake fundraiser for more than 30 years. There are many unsung heroes in the community, and Mr. Smith and Turner’s Dual Lanes are certainly among them.

Each year, Turner’s Dual Lanes has generously opened the entire bowling alley during hours they are normally closed for BBBS’ largest fundraiser. Not only do they open and staff the bowling alley for the fundraiser, but they also take care of hanging and taking down nearly 100 sponsor signs. The staff is very helpful and always treats our guests with absolute respect. Mr. Smith and Turner’s Dual Lanes have never asked for any compensation, fully allowing BBBS to realize the full benefit of this very important fundraiser.

The staff and board of directors of BBBS are passionate about the agency’s mission to help children and youth reach their full potential through professionally supported one-to-one relationships with mentors. The work of the agency could not move forward without the support of generous community partners like Mr. Smith and Turner’s Dual Lanes.
