Teen struck by pickup truck in Pa. remains hospitalized

WAYNESBORO, Pa. — A 17-year-old girl hit by a pickup truck Monday morning at the intersection of Fairview Avenue and West Main Street remained hospitalized Tuesday.

The girl, whose identity was not released by police, continued to be listed in serious, or “guarded,” condition, Waynesboro Police Chief James Sourbier said.

Sourbier said the girl was hit by a 2002 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by S. Allen Stine of Waynesboro. The vehicle was traveling west on West Main Street.

The teenager was taken to Meritus Medical Center and then to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, police said.

Sourbier said police are continuing to investigate the accident, which occurred at about 7:15 a.m.
