PREP BASEBALL

Mercersburg 12, Lawrenceville 2

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. — Collin Gibbons-Fly’s three-run homer highlighted a seven-run fourth inning as Mercersburg Academy clinched the Mid-Atlantic Prep League regular-season title by beating Lawrenceville.

Tiger Smith pitched 5 1/3 innings of one-hit ball, striking out 14 to improve his record to 6-1. Mike Collins came on in relief and allowed just one hit over the final 1 2/3 innings, striking out four.

Gibbons-fly finished with four RBIs, while Reggie Fiumano went 4-for-4 with two RBIs and Trustin Riley had two hits and two RBIs for the Blue Storm (20-2, 8-1).



BOYS LACROSSE

Oakdale 10, Smithsburg 5

IJAMSVILLE, Md. — Ryan Karroll had two goals and an assist and Ryan Milligan added two goals for Smithsburg in a Maryland Class 2A/1A West quarterfinal game on Saturday.

Josh Thomas had a goal and an assist and Devin Schaeffer had 18 saves for the Leopards.

YOUTH SOCCER

Blast go 2-1

The Clear Spring Blast went 2-1 at the Bloomsburg University College showcase over the weekend.

Colton Myers had two goals and an assist and Owen Marx had a goal and an assist, Brayden Tiner, Derek Cermano, Ryan Schnurr each had a goal and Bradly Mills had an assist on the weekend for the Blast.

Ben Troupe posted two shutouts and made 16 saves in goal.
