Q: Small Business Month is this month. Does SCORE Hagerstown have any public events scheduled that you can tell us about?

A: Yes!

Thursday is SCORE’s business roundtable, featuring Hagerstown’s Downtown Manager Andrew Sargent, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Always Ron’s, 29 N. Burhans Blvd. in Hagerstown. The event is free; lunch is available for purchase.

Sargent will share plans and programs the city has to assist startup and existing businesses. Bring your questions and concerns to share in this open-forum discussion. Call 301-606-9456 to register, since seating is limited.

SCORE’s business roundtables offer opportunities for networking and learning from business peers about the latest topics and issues facing small businesses. Learn from peers about solving business problems. Improve management skills with tips from colleagues and guest speakers. Develop key professional relationships to help your business grow.

“Coffee Break with SCORE” is Friday from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. in room 323 at the Technical Innovation Center on the campus of Hagerstown Community College. Chapter members will be present to answer questions and share details about a variety of SCORE opportunities, including forming partnerships and sponsorships with the local chapter, volunteer memberships, small-business mentor training and certification, and leadership roles and development. A video will be shown at 9:30 a.m.

Whatever your SCORE -related interest, come and take a coffee and pastry break with us Friday. No registration is required. There is plenty of free parking available in Lots F and G next to the Technical Innovation Center.

For more information, call Bob Jones at 301-606-9456.

Moving into June, on Tuesday, June 4, at 10:30 a.m., listen to an interview with one of SCORE Hagerstown’s clients of the year on WJEJ-1240 AM.
