Mrs. Barbara Lee Myers, 73, of Falling Waters, W.Va., passed away Monday, April 29, 2013, at the home of her daughter. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Born Oct. 17, 1939, in Hagerstown, Md., she was the daughter of the late Paul R. Summers and Sarah E. Summers (Rhodes) Palmer.

She attended Williamsport High School. She was of the Protestant faith.

Barbara worked many different jobs in her life. She was a homemaker, and worked at the Hagerstown Girls Club as the ceramic teacher, and was a Girl Scout leader. She later returned there to cook for the young ladies at Girls Inc. She had just recently retired because of her illness. She was formerly a waitress and cook at Morris Frock American Legion Post 42. She also owned her own deli, Salem Way Confectionery, many years ago.

Everything she did in her life, she did to serve others. Barbara had many joys in her life, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She loved to play bingo and slots with her dear friends, and she loved to travel. She visited Jamaica, Hawaii, the Caribbean and Alaska. She traveled from the East Coast to the West Coast with her brother and his wife, seeing spectacular sites along the way. She had a wonderful life and enjoyed every minute of it.

She is survived by five children, Charles Potts Jr., Jeffrey Potts Sr. and wife, Bernice, Tammy Mowery and husband, Samuel, Wendy Myers and husband, Martin, and Barbie Myers and special friend, Mark; 10 grandchildren, Travis Line, Steven and Joseph Potts, Chanta and Jeffrey Potts, Kristen Showe and fiancé, Chuck, and Tiffany Mowery, Andrew Brunk and fiancée, Elysse, Jacob Nalley and Paige Myers; eight great-grandchildren, Dan and Seth, Wyatt, Ty, and her special great-grandbabies, Jamison, Anthony, Andrew Line and Hayden Showe; one great-great-grandson Camden; her brothers, Paul R. Summers and wife, Sharon, and James Summers and wife, Debbie; sister, Anita Eichelberger and husband, Robert; her sisters- and brothers-in-law, Lois and Greg Gibney, Diane and Kent Kesecker, and Pam Myers; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford "Skip" Myers; her parents; her stepfather, Albert Palmer; a daughter, Lucinda D. Potts; a grandson, Clint J. Line; mother-in-law, Irma R. Myers; and brother-in-law, David Myers.

Services will be Friday, May 3, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd., North, Hagerstown, with the Rev. Kent Kesecker officiating. Interment will be at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Thursday, May 2, 2013, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
