Two injured in 3-vehicle crash on I-81 in W.Va.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Two people were taken to City Hospital in Martinsburg after a tractor-trailer and two passenger vehicles collided Monday night on Interstate 81, the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office said.

The accident occurred at 9:17 p.m. in the southbound lanes of I-81 near the 15-mile marker, which is northwest of Martinsburg, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

Deputies said the drivers of the passenger vehicles were taken to the hospital.

The sheriff’s office said Tuesday morning that the names of the drivers were unavailable.

The tractor-trailer driver was treated at the scene and released.

The southbound lanes of I-81 were reopened just before 11 p.m., a Berkeley County Central Dispatch supervisor said.
