Spring yard and bake sale

Paramount Brethren in Christ Church on Longmeadow Road will hold its spring yard and bake sale Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Clothing and household items, as well as homemade baked goods and ham sandwiches, will be sold.
All proceeds from the sale will go toward the Mennonite Central Committee’s Meat Canning Project, which prepares and ships more than a half-million cans with more than a million pounds of meat, mostly turkey, to feed hungry people around the world.

Buffet planned for Mother’s Day
A Mother’s Day buffet will be Sunday, May 12, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Morris Frock Post 42 American Legion on Northern Avenue in Hagerstown.
The menu will include fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, bacon, chipped beef and biscuits, Seafood Newburg with rice pilaf, roast beef carving station with au jus and horseradish cream, roast turkey with giblet gravy, mashed potatoes, roasted red potatoes, green beans, julienne vegetables, salad station, rolls and butter, desserts and  sodas, coffee and tea. 
The public is invited. Reservations are recommended.

House and garden tour
The Women’s Club will sponsor a house and garden tour Saturday, June 1. 
Eight houses will be on the tour, including some on Oak Hill Avenue and South Prospect Street in Hagerstown.
Also included on the tour will be the Women’s Club, the Brennecke home and a home in Sharpsburg.
Lunch will be available at the club from 11 a.m.  to 2 p.m.
The lunch will cost $7 on the day of the tour. The cost of  tickets covering all the homes is $20, or individual homes can be viewed for $5.
Tickets are available at the Women’s Club, Lena’s of Hagerstown, Wisteria Cove, Dollies Tea Room, Cake Walk, Carol and Co., Village Florists and Gifts, Fahrney’s Hallmark, Roostervane Florist and the Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Proceeds will go to the Women’s Club, which provides low-cost housing for women in the community and a place for members to meet.
