Washington County Public Schools announces new principals

HAGERSTOWN — Washington County Public Schools Superintendent Clayton M. Wilcox recently announced administrative changes for the remainder of the 2012-13 school year and other transfers that will take place officially on July 1.

Following are the changes listed in an emailed news release:
• Beth Allshouse will transfer as principal from Greenbrier Elementary School to Lincolnshire Elementary School, effective May 6.
• Jennifer Scarberry-Price will transfer as principal from Smithsburg Elementary School to Greenbrier Elementary School, effective May 6.
 
The following changes are effective July 1:
• Karen Palmer will transfer as principal from Cascade Elementary School to Boonsboro Elementary School.
• Hope Fuss will transfer as principal at Boonsboro Elementary School to an elementary literacy position at the central office.
• Steve Wernick will transfer as director of elementary education to principal at Cascade Elementary School.
• Jeremy Jakoby, former supervisor of testing and accountability and current acting principal at South Hagerstown High School, will become principal at South Hagerstown High School.

The Smithsburg Elementary School principal, supervisor of testing and accountability and director of elementary education positions will remain open until they are filled, according to the release.
