HCC student art exhibit

Hagerstown Community College will hold its annual spring student art exhibit from Monday, April 29, to Friday, May 3, at the Kepler Center at HCC.

The exhibit will feature a variety of artwork, including painting, drawing, mixed-media sculpture, ceramic sculpture, pottery, digital photography and graphic-design prints.

To be eligible to enter the show, students must be enrolled in one of HCC’s art courses and have a coherent body of work to present.

An opening reception will be Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. The event is free and the public is invited to attend. 


The exhibit will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Spring tea

Ringgold Church of Christ Women’s Ministry will hold a spring tea Saturday, May 4, from 10 a.m. to noon. 

The event will include devotion, door prizes, favors, fellowship and light fare. 

The event is free and open to the public.

The church is at 14420 Barkdoll Road in Hagerstown.

Also, the church is offering a bus trip to Sight and Sound Millennium Theatre in Lancaster, Pa., on Wednesday, May 8.

Breakfast for seniors

The Leitersburg and Ringgold Ruritan Clubs will sponsor a free pancake breakfast for those 60 and older Saturday, May 4, from 8 to 11 a.m. at the schoolhouse, 14247 Windy Haven Road in Ringgold.

The breakfast is for seniors in the Leitersburg, Smithsburg and Ringgold areas.

Others may attend by giving a donation.

Ballroom dance

Clare Domer will host a ballroom dance event Thursday from 7 to 10 p.m. at Morris Frock Post 42 American Legion on Northern Avenue  in Hagerstown.

Admission costs $5 per person.
