David "Robby" W. Robinson, 62, of Clear Spring, Md., passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013, at his home.

Born Dec. 8, 1950, in Hagerstown, Md., he was the son of the late Richard Virl Robinson and Edna Mae Miner Robinson.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of Mount Zion Methodist Church in Hagerstown. 

He retired after 34 years of service from Frick Co. in Waynesboro, Pa.

He was a 1969 graduate of Clear Spring High School, and was a member of UAW 1296.

He was an avid sports fan, enjoying the Orioles and NASCAR racing. He was a stock-car racer at Hagerstown Speedway from 1972 to 1985. He enjoyed riding go-carts with his grandchildren. David loved fishing and hunting mushrooms, and enjoyed crabbing at the bay. He loved spending time with family, and especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Maria Courtney Robinson; two daughters, Holly A. Kauffman and husband, Robert W., of Mercersburg, Pa., and Courtney M. Bonebrake and husband, Jeremy K., of Timonium, Md.; two sisters, Shirley Glesner of Smithsburg, Md., and JoAnn Smith of North Port, Fla.; two brothers, Richard Merle Robinson of Clear Spring and John W. Robinson of Big Pool, Md.; three beloved granddaughters, Haley M. Kauffman, Lillian G. Kauffman and Jenna A. Kauffman; a special friend, Charles Potts Sr.; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be Monday, April 22, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home Inc., 13607 National Pike, Clear Spring, with Pastor Ron Faith officiating. 

The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Broadfording Christian Academy Servathon, 13535 Broadfording Church Road, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
