William and Kay Barnhart of Hagerstown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their sons and family at Old South Mountain Inn in Boonsboro.
After enjoying a wonderful dinner, they were surprised with a beautiful anniversary cake baked and decorated by Mrs. Barnhart’s sister, Karen Cronise.
The Barnharts were married Nov. 3, 1962, by Pastor Harold Lehman, Mr. Barnhart’s uncle, at Northside Mennonite Church in Hagerstown.
Mrs. Barnhart is the former Kay Lorraine Andrews, and the daughter of the late Charles and Ruth Andrews. She is retired after working at various medical offices and in physical therapy at the former Washington County Hospital.
Mr. Barnhart is the son of Hazel Louise Barnhart of Hagerstown and the late William A. Barnhart.  He worked as a police officer for the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the Town of Williamsport. He retired from Ryder/Pie Truck Lines after 18 years of service.
The Barnharts have three sons, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
