Jody Long recently spoke to the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts’ Singer Society.

Introduced by her husband, Nicholas Long, she spoke about their recent trip to Italy, following the “Trail of Piero della Francesca.”

She shared photos of the early Renaissance master’s paintings, characterized by serene humanism, with use of geometric forms and perspective.

Their tour took them to towns where his art is predominant: from Venice to Urbino, Sansepolcro, Monterchi, Arezzo and Florence.

Some of Francesca’s paintings are being shown at the Frick Collection in New York City.

The Singer Society is the volunteer organization of the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts. Monthly meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month at the museum. Visitors are welcome.
