Leon Vernon Minnick, 86, of Williamsport, Md., passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore, Md.

Born Aug. 30, 1926, in Paramount, Md., he was the son of the late William Clarence and Loretta May Snyder Minnick.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II.

He was employed with Canteen Vending Co., and was in the vending business all his life, working for various vending companies throughout the Tri-State area.

He was a member of Church of the Holy Trinity, Hagerstown, Md.

He was an avid duckpin bowler and belonged to various leagues. He played baseball for Funkstown Masser Motor Express Independent baseball team and numerous other baseball leagues.

He enjoyed going to auctions.

Survivors include, wife, Ravena Catherine Forsyth Minnick, married Aug. 27, 1948, of Williamsport; daughter, Deborah A. Shupp and her husband, Richard, of Hagerstown; son, Gregory L. Minnick and his wife, Melody E., of Williamsport; son, Darryl V. Minnick of Williamsport; sister, Doris Kelly of Hagerstown; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were dear to his heart, Tonya A. Colliflower, Chrissy J. Minnick, Beth A. Minnick, Dr. Jeffrey W. Shupp, Stephen D. Minnick and Gregory L. Minnick II; and great-grandsons, Bradley Colliflower and Joshua Colliflower.

He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Minnick.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, April 18, 2013, at 3 p.m. at St. Paul's Cemetery, Clear Spring, Md., with the Rev. Timothy J. Leighton officiating.
