Man found in Waynesboro parking lot dies

WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Police are investigating the death of an Adams County, Pa., man who was found in a restaurant parking lot and died in a hospital four days later.

Robert Branson, 28, of 247 Tract Road in Fairfield, Pa., died April 13 at Hershey (Pa.) Medical Center, according to a news release from the Waynesboro Police Department.

Police said they responded at about 7 p.m. April 9 to a report of an unresponsive individual lying adjacent to the parking lot at the McDonald’s restaurant at 302 E. Main St.

Branson was taken to the Waynesboro Hospital for initial treatment and was then transferred to Hershey Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Waynesboro police and the Franklin County Coroner’s Office are conducting a joint investigation into the circumstances surrounding Branson’s death, Waynesboro Chief James Sourbier said in the release.

No other information was available Wednesday night.
