Boys & Girls Club of the Eastern Panhandle to honor former president

April 17, 2013

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Everyday in the Eastern Panhandle there are individuals making a difference in the life of a child.

On Thursday, May 2, the Boys & Girls Club of the Eastern Panhandle will honor the memory of one of these individuals who touched the community and the lives of many local children.

The Boys & Girls Club of the Eastern Panhandle’s 2013 Champion for Youth Honoree is Robert “Bob” Miller, a long-time Berkeley County resident and owner of Miller’s Electric, who died of a heart attack earlier this year just two months shy of his 57th birthday.

Miller was selected as the 2013 Champion for Youth Dinner honoree because of his involvement with the Boys & Girls Club for many years. He was a longtime member of the Board of Directors and served as president in 2010.

Miller’s Electric also supported the Boys & Girls Club by donating “in-kind” electrical services when needed or requested.

The Boys & Girls Club of the Eastern Panhandle will honor the memory of Bob Miller during the dinner, which begins at 6:30 pm at the Holiday Inn in Martinsburg.

Tributes will be offered by several community leaders as well as Gina Miller, Bob’s wife.

Dinner sponsorships are available for $250, $500, $750, $1,000 and $2,500. Individual tickets also may be purchased for $50 per person at any Boys & Girls Club location in the Eastern Panhandle or from any member of the board of directors.

For more information on sponsorships or tickets, call the Martinsburg Boys & Girls Club at 304.263.1832.

The Boys & Girls Club of the Eastern Panhandle is committed to serving the youth of the Eastern Panhandle. Its mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens.
