Inwood principal named to Mountain Ridge Intermediate post

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Inwood (W.Va.) Primary School Principal Autumne Frye was named principal of Mountain Ridge Intermediate, beginning in July.

Frye’s appointment to lead the Gerrardstown, W.Va.-area school was approved Tuesday evening by the Berkeley County Board of Education.

Frye started her career teaching first-grade students at Tomahawk Intermediate School, and then taught fifth grade at Orchard View Intermediate School, according to a news release from Berkeley County Schools.

Frye, who has worked for the school district for 11 years, was appointed assistant principal at Berkeley Heights Elementary School in 2006 and is serving as principal at Inwood Primary this school year, according to the school district.

“I am excited to have the opportunity to join the team at Mountain Ridge Intermediate, and I look forward to working with the children, families and staff to continue their tradition of excellence in education,” Frye said in a news release.

Frye received her Master of Educational Leadership from West Virginia University in 2005 and her Bachelor of Arts in elementary education from Shepherd University in 2002, according to the school district.
