Neighborhood watch start-up meeting set

A start-up meeting for a neighborhood watch in the Halfway area will be held Wednesday at Western Sizzlin’ Steak House. The meeting will be in the back room of the restaurant at 6:30 p.m. For more information, contact Kelly at 240-291-6050.

Recital is planned at county museum

Classic car events to begin this week

The Classic Car Group for Children, Inc. Kruz-Ins will begin Saturday, and will be held through Oct. 19 in the lower JC Penney parking lot at the Valley Mall. Additional Kruz-Ins for April will be held the 20th and 27th. The Classic Car Group for Children, Inc. has held local Kruz-Ins since 1990. They are sponsors of Shriners International, an organization providing pediatric specialty care, research and education. All donations at the classic car event will be donated to Shriners International, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.


Youth Football League to host registration

Signups for Junior League football will be held Saturday, April 20, and Sunday, April 21, at the Valley Mall. Registration will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the mall food court. For more details, visit
