Choral department presents 'Cats'

Williamsport High School will present Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical “Cats” Friday at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday at 2 and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday at 2 p.m. Other upcoming performances are Friday, April 19, at 7:30 p.m.; and Saturday, April 20, at 2 and 7:30 p.m. All performances will be in the school auditorium.

Concessions will be sold during intermission. Proceeds benefit the Williamsport High School Choral Boosters.

General admission tickets cost $10; students and seniors pay $7. Tickets can be purchased in advance by contacting the box office at 301-766-8433.

'Bring Back the Rat' hoodies to be ordered

Friday is the deadline to order a “Bring Back the Rat” hoodie. Orders can be placed at Town Hall from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $25, payable when orders are placed. The pullover hoodies are navy blue with white print, in adult sizes small to 3X.

Pancake breakfast set at St. Joseph Parish

There will be a pancake breakfast Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to noon at St. Joseph Parish, 17630 Virginia Ave. in Hagerstown. The breakfast will be hosted by St. Joseph’s confirmation class. Parking is available across the street. For more information, call 301-797-9445.

Basket, bags and bingo

St. Joseph Parish, at 17630 Virginia Ave. in Hagerstown, is having a basket, bags and bingo event Sunday.

Doors will open at 1:30 p.m. and bingo starts at 2 p.m. Light refreshments will be available for purchase.

Tip jars and special bingo games will be played. All baskets and bags will be filled.

Tickets cost $20 each and will be available at the door.

The event benefits the Catholic Daughters of St. Joseph No. 2245.

Yard sale to be held at Kinder Haven

Kinder Haven Child Care will hold a yard sale Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 35 W. Potomac St.

Barbecue chicken will be available for purchase to eat in or carry out.

Spaghetti dinner set for Saturday

Van Lear Brethren in Christ Church, 10745 Van Lear Drive (off Virginia Avenue), will hold a spaghetti dinner Saturday from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.

The meal includes all-you-can-eat spaghetti with meat or marinara sauce, salad, roll and butter, coffee, tea or water. Dessert may be purchased by donation.

The cost is $7 for adults, $3.50 for ages 3 to 12. Those younger than 3 may eat for free. The meal can be eaten on-site or carried out.

Wildcat alumni baseball game planned

The Williamsport High School baseball program is hosting an alumni baseball game Sunday, April 28. All proceeds will go to the Brendon E. Colliflower Scholarship Fund.

There will be a home run derby starting at noon, with a game to follow. A silent auction of baseball memorabilia will be held throughout the day. The game is open to any former Wildcats who were varsity letter winners. Spectators are welcome.

Those who want to play in the game must make a $25 donation and those who want to participate in the home run derby pay $5. Potomac Garden Club news

Members of the Potomac Garden Club will meet Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. in the reception room at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.

The program will be about organic gardening and composting, presented by a Washington County master gardener.

The club is gearing up for spring projects. Sign-up sheets will be available to plan the 2013-15 term.

The group is traveling to Brookside Garden on Tuesday, May 7.
