Diabetes Support Group

The Diabetes Support Group at Potomac Towers will meet Wednesday, April 17, at 1:30 p.m. in the first-floor community room. The program will be “Diabetes Superfoods” presented by Lisa McCoy from the Washington County Health Department.

The support group is open to individuals who live at Potomac Towers and anyone in the community. It provides a forum for educating individuals with diabetes to help manage their disease and to gain support from others.  For more information, contact McCoy at 240-313-3360; TTY 240-313-3391.

Bus trip

Ringgold Church of Christ, at 14420 Barkdoll Road in Hagerstown, is offering a bus trip to Sight & Sound Millennium Theatre in Lancaster, Pa., to see “Noah” on Wednesday, May 8. The chartered bus leaves the church at 8:30 a.m. and will return at 7:45 p.m. 


The cost is $110 for adults; $92 for ages 12 to 18; and $72 for ages 3 to 11. The price includes transportation, show ticket and dinner at Good & Plenty Restaurant. 

A total of 54 tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Call 301-824-2772 for tickets.

Faculty art show

Hagerstown Community College is holding its annual faculty art show through Tuesday, April 23, in the Kepler Center. This year’s show features more than 10 faculty artists exhibiting a variety work that includes ceramics, painting, jewelry, drawing, mixed media and sculpture.

An opening reception will be Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. The event is free and the public is invited to attend.
