Mail Call - April 10

April 09, 2013

“I’d like to make a comment about HCC naming the court for Coach Jim Brown. I was fortunate and blessed and privileged to be a player for him in basketball, and he not only showed me the best way to play basketball, but he also taught me things in life that’s helped me, at 55 years old. He was a great coach. So I just want to thank The Herald-Mail.”

“I just wanted to call and thank the lady who saw me accidentally leave my wallet on a bench at the Robinwood medical facility. I am so grateful she ran after to tell me. She left so quickly that I did not catch her name, and was not able to thank her. God bless her. You saved me a lot of heartache, and I am so appreciative.”

“Nice article on the school board. That’s a no-brainer, county commissioners and BOE, about the PE building. It’s valued at $6.115, they’re asking $5.5 million. That’s cheap. That’s only $12,222 an acre. So you better buy the 45 acres. The only bad side is, that’s $127,000 off our county and state property taxes, but it’s money well spent, and you’ll get a lot of support from the community.”

“I hope everyone had the opportunity to see the tribute to Bucky, the Sharpsburg deer, that was in the Sunday paper, the Easter paper. It’s just like we lost our best friend, and I’m sure I’m speaking for a lot of us. It’s like something is missing in our life. He was visiting almost every day, we had all kinds of stories to tell about him, and it’s just something missing.”
— Sharpsburg
