FBLA hosting craft/yard sale

The Future Business Leaders of America is sponsoring a craft/yard sale Saturday, May 18, during the National Pike Days celebration.

Tables may be rented for $10 for a single spot or $20 for a double. Renters must provide their own tables.
This will be a rain-or-shine event, and there will be no refunds. 

Payments are due by May 10.

Soup and sandwich sale

St. Paul’s Reformed Church, five miles west of Huyetts Crossroads on National Pike and three miles east of Clear Spring, will hold a soup and sandwich sale Saturday, April 27, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

Items for sale will include hot dogs, steamers, chili dogs and country ham sandwiches. Homemade soups will include ham and bean, chicken corn, vegetable, beef noodle and Maryland crab. Plenty of home-baked goods also will be available. 


Food can be eaten at the church or be carried out. The sale will be held rain or shine.

Proceeds will benefit Fun Fest 2013.

Wilson Ruritan pancake breakfast and butchering

Wilson Ruritan will have its last butchering Saturday.

A pancake breakfast will be served from 6:30 am to 11:00 am at the Wilson Ruritan Club, 1/4 mile west of Huyetts Crossroads on U.S. 40.

The $4.50 breakfast includes all-you-can-eat pancakes and your choice of one side of puddin’, pon haus, sausage patty or sausage gravy, coffee and orange juice.

Needle Expressions

The Clear Spring Library is holding Needle Expressions Thursday, April 18, at 6 p.m. 

This is an evening for those who knit, crochet, cross-stitch, embroider, etc., to meet for two hours of social crafting. Bring your project and a cup; beverages will be provided.

All ages are welcome.
