Town to receive state funds for road improvements
The town of Clear Spring will receive $9,945 in state funding that will be used for road improvements.
Town Clerk Juanita Grimm read a letter from state Sen. George C. Edwards detailing the grant, which stemmed from the state’s $15.4 million budget reserved for transportation grants for municipalities, at the Clear Spring Town Council meeting Tuesday.
The amount of the grant was determined by a municipality’s number of roads, Clear Spring Mayor Paul D. Hose Jr. said.

National Pike Days Committee gets town funds
The Clear Spring Town Council on Monday approved the allocation of $1,000 to the National Pike Days Committee.
Clear Spring Mayor Paul D. Hose Jr. said the annual event features a wagon train parade following a historic wagon travel trail along National Pike and Old National Pike.
The parade will commence in Clear Spring on May 18, Town Clerk Juanita Grimm said.
