South High Boosters to meet Monday

A meeting of the South Hagerstown High School boosters will be held at 7 p.m. Monday in the media center at South Hagers-town High School. There will be many topics to discuss. Everyone is invited.

Diabetes support group to meet April 17

The diabetes support group at Potomac Towers will meet at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, in the first-floor community room.

The program will be about diabetes superfoods,” and will be presented by Lisa McCoy from the Washington County Health Department.

The Diabetes Support Group is open to individuals who live at Potomac Towers and anyone in the community. The group provides a forum for educating individuals with diabetes to help manage their disease and to gain support from others.

Discovery Station program for Saturday

The Discovery Station is partnering with the Maryland International Film Festival-Hagerstown and opening its doors from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Theatrical characters from the Barbara Ingram School for the Performing Arts will visit the museum in costume and talk with the children. Also, fans can meet the Hagerstown Suns mascot Woolie B. Additionally, several Hagerstown Suns players will greet guests.
Admission is free; donations are accepted.

Bob Savittt, author of “Blue Ridge League,” a historic early local baseball book, will sign copies of the book at 2 p.m.
