George E. Miller, 88, of Pennsylvania Avenue in Hagerstown, Md., passed away Thursday April 4, 2013, at his home.

Born March 21, 1925, in Columbus, Ohio, he was the son of the late Harold L. and Inez J. (Ingmire) Miller.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in both World War II and the Korean War.

He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses of Hagerstown for 55 years, serving many years as elder.

He retired from Western Maryland Hospital of Hagerstown with more than 20 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Emily N. "Sue" (Barthlow) Miller, whom he married Feb. 14, 1953; three sons, John, Jerry and Mark; one daughter, Christine Anson; grandchildren, Troy, Mark, Nathan, Jennifer, Thomas, Tammy and Tracy; and many great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, George; and two brothers, Harold and Leland.

A memorial service will be Saturday, April 13, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, with Richard G. Myers officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses (in memory of George Miller), 30 Nottingham Drive, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
