Mapleville Road resident grazed by bullet during home invasion

BOONSBORO — A man’s face was grazed by a bullet early Friday during a home invasion on Mapleville Road near Boonsboro, according to a Maryland State Police news release.

The incident was reported at 2:33 a.m. after two armed men allegedly forced their way through the rear entrance of a home at 8919 Mapleville Road, troopers said.

Troopers said a male resident awoke and confronted the intruders. At that point, one of the intruders fired a gunshot from a pistol, grazing the resident on the left side of his face.

Troopers said the other intruder used a knife to cut the resident on his left bicep.

The resident refused medical treatment, troopers said.

Troopers said they were unable to find anyone after canvassing the area with the help of Hagerstown police officers and deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
