Ruritan to hold strawberry festival

The Rohrersville Ruritan Club will hold its annual strawberry festival June 8 and 9 in the community park.

The festival committee invites craft vendors, specialty sales people and yard sale individuals to reserve spaces. Spaces are by donation. Show tractors, cars and trucks are welcome.

Samples Manor to hold spring revival 

Samples Manor Church of God, at 2128 Harpers Ferry Road near Dargan, will hold a spring revival from Sunday to Sunday, April 14, featuring the following preachers and musicans:

Fire company to hold breakfast

Potomac Valley Fire Co. will hold an all-you-can-eat breakfast Saturday from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the fire hall in Dargan, seven miles south of Sharpsburg on Harpers Ferry Road. 

Tickets cost $6. Those 5 and younger eat for free. 

The breakfast includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, sausage gravy, coffee and juice.

Vintage, handcrafted arts market to open

A new vintage goods and handcrafted arts market will open at the end of May on North Church Street in Sharpsburg.

Booth rentals and bookshelf rentals are available.

The market will be open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 or 7 p.m.

Booth space costs $125 a month and is available for those with furniture and large vintage items to sell.

A bookshelf unit costs $35 a month and one shelf costs $20 a month.

Ruritan to hold breakfast 

Pleasant Valley Ruritan Club will sponsor an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast Saturday from 6 to 11 a.m. at the Brownsville Church of the Brethren.

Tickets cost $6 for adults, $3 for those ages 6 to 12, and are free for those younger than 6.

The menu includes pancakes, sausage, sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, orange juice and coffee. Country ham sandwiches will be available for sale.

Proceeds will benefit club service projects. 

Church to hold indoor yard sale

The Catholic Daughters of St. James Court, Boonsboro, will hold an annual indoor yard sale Friday, April 12, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, April 13, from 8 a.m. to noon in the Parish Hall on the corner of Main Street and Ford Avenue.

Baked goods, soups and sandwiches to eat in or take out will be sold. 

Yard sale items will cost $2 per bag on Saturday, April 13.

Museum to open transportation building

The Rural Heritage Museum will hold a grand opening celebration of the Rural Heritage Transportation Museum and spring open house at the museum Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.

The museum is at the Washington County Agricultural Education Center, 7313 Sharpsburg Pike.

The Washington County Rural Heritage Museum will hold a rug hooking class at the ag center Saturday, April 13, and Saturday, April 20, from 1 to 4 p.m. each day. Tickets cost $20 per person. Advance registration is required by April 8.

Wyant to teach at senior center

Nurse Louise Wyant will talk about diabetes Monday, April 8, at 9:30 a.m. at the Southeastern senior center in Keedysville.

Sandy Ferris will conduct exercise classes Wednesday and Marcia Davies will lead exercise classes Fridays.
The center is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
