Cearfoss group to visit emporium

The Cearfoss Senior Connection will be taking a field trip Tuesday, April 9, to the Cearfoss Emporium.    

The group will meet at 10 a.m. at Broadfording Church of the Brethern, 14010 Greencastle Pike in Hagerstown.

The Cearfoss Emporium, at 14025 Greencastle Pike, Hagerstown, sells items that are both modern day and vintage gifts, toys and collectibles.

Mack Golden Bulldogs to host guest speaker

The Mack Golden Bulldogs program for the Monday, April 8, meeting will be presented by Dr. Glen Elliott from the Ludwick Eye Center. The program will be on “The Aging Eye.” Elliott specializes in dry eye syndrome.

He served in the U.S. Navy for 10 years and is a veteran of Operation Desert Storm.

The Golden Bulldogs meet once a month on the second Monday, beginning at 10 a.m. at the UAW Meeting Hall on Maugans Avenue. Membership is open to any and all Mack and Volvo retirees and their spouses.

Line dance planned for Saturday, April 13

The Hagerstown Country Western Dance Association will hold a line dance Saturday, April 13, from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the former Quincy School gym, 7888 Anthony Highway in Waynesboro, Pa. 

The event is for singles and couples. It is open to the public. The dance costs $5 for members and $7 for nonmembers. For more information, send an email to
