One person killed in Martinsburg car crash

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — One person was killed early Easter Sunday in  a single-vehicle accident at the intersection of Apple Harvest Drive and State Circle in Martinsburg, according to a news release issued  Wednesday night by the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department.

The driver was taken to City Hospital, where he later died of his injuries, according to the release issued by Deputy C. Pearson, who, along with other deputies, responded to the call at 3:03 a.m.

The white Volvo four-door sedan was traveling west on Apple Harvest Drive when its driver lost control of the vehicle, which left the roadway and rolled, deputies said.

The driver was ejected through the sunroof, deputies said.

Further information on the identity of the driver was not available Wednesday night.
