Pa. 4-H Tractor Club holds awards banquet

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — The 4-H Tractor Club members and parents recently met for the 60th annual awards banquet at the Chambersburg Church of the Brethren. 

The family style dinner was planned to recognize project club winners and to complete the annual winter program. This was the last meeting of the year. 

Cyrus Lehman, club president, made an introduction and then Roger Dice, program director, made a few comments.

A ribbon was given to each member to determine how he or she did in their project book. 

Dale Martin taught the first-year group and awarded Bryce Ocker first place. Sam Hess was awarded second place and Nicole Hess was awarded third place.

Roger and Kevin Dice taught the second-year group, and awarded Kevin Mummert of Chambersburg first place. David Brubaker of Waynesboro, Pa., was awarded second place, and Connor P. Martain of Shippensburg, Pa., was awarded third place.

Kevin Grove taught the third-year group and awarded Carson Ocker of Greencastle, Pa. first place. Erik Lehman of Greencastle was awarded second place and Austin Byers of Mercersburg, Pa., was awarded third place.

Special thanks were given to Dale Martin, Roger and Kevin Dice, and Kevin Grove for their time teaching the groups how a tractor works, and about tractor safety. 

Special thanks were given to the tractor dealers in Franklin County for the use of their facilities and refreshments they provide.

Special thanks were given to Keith Yohn for being the speaker at the banquet.
