2. Burning hot

"Hotter Than Blue" is written by and features NASA scientists. The program traces the field of high energy astronomy from the early days of satellites to the latest in gamma ray burst detectors.  Program is 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 3. Also Tuesdays, April 16 and May 7. William Brish Planetarium at Washington County Board of Education, 820 Commonwealth Ave., Hagerstown. If schools are closed or dismissed early, the planetarium will be closed. $3; $2, students and children; free for senior citizens with a Gold Car from Washington County Public Schools. 3. Climb aboard

The Hagerstown Railroad Museum and Engine 202 will open for the season Friday, April 5. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays; and by appointment Sunday through Thursday. 4. Talking about trailblazers

Jonathan Hager House and Museum opens Friday, April 5, for the season. Self-guided tours 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays; and available for tours by appointment Sunday through Thursday.
