Shirley Jean Funk, 74, of Hancock, Md., died Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Fairfax, Va.

Born Aug. 5, 1938, in Hagerstown, Md., she was the daughter of the late Eugene M. and Edna Louise Bowers Hoffman.

She was a member of Christ Lutheran Evangelical Church.

Shirley enjoyed bowling with Funkstown Suburbanites and volunteered as statistician. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed going to the Funkstown fire hall and Halfway Fire Co. She liked baseball and watching the Orioles.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Roy Lesher Funk; one daughter, Lori Clark of Clear Spring, Md.; one son, David Funk and wife, Laurie, of Huntingdon, Pa.; one brother, Charles (Pud) Hoffman and wife, Henrietta, of Hagerstown; three grandchildren, Cory Clark, Garrett Funk and Cole Funk; and a niece, Kristina Hoffman.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Thomas L. Perry will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Monday, April 1, 2013, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
