Wrestler “Nature Boy” Ric Flair has canceled his appearance Friday, March 29, as part of the Big Time Wrestling event at The Maryland Theatre due to a death in his family, according to Jessica Green, the theater’s operations director.

The Associated Press reported today that Flair’s son, Reid Fliehr, who was also a wrestler, was found dead in a North Carolina hotel.

A statement from police said there are no signs of foul play, and that the cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner’s office.

Flair’s agent released a statement Friday describing Fliehr as “an incredible son, brother, friend, and professional wrestler.”

Green said Flair was not scheduled to wrestle, therefore, the show will continue. Scheduled to wrestle are Jim Duggan, Kevin Nash, The Patriot Robbie E and more.

The meet and greet with the wrestlers will continue at 6 p.m.

Those who had purchased package tickets for the meet and greet specifically with Flair are being refunded, Green said.

Bell time is at 8:30 p.m. Tickets cost $25 to $55.

For more information, call the theater at 301-790-2000.
