Susquehanna Bank to collect donations for humane society

March 29, 2013

For the third year in a row, the Washington County branches of Susquehanna Bank will hold a two-week pet supply drive for the Humane Society of Washington County.

On Monday, April 8, each of the 12 branches will begin collecting a variety of items for the animals in big blue boxes that will be prominently displayed in their lobbies.

Participating branches are Boonsboro, Smithsburg, Dual Highway, Hagerstown Financial Center, Paramount, Eastern Boulevard, Fountain Head, Salem Avenue, Halfway, Frederick Street, Hancock and Valley Mall.

Paramount branch manager Cindy Helman led the donation drive.

“We are looking forward to hosting this event for the third year,” Helman said. “Everyone really enjoys doing this, and we continue to have greater response each year.”

Susquehanna Bank Sales and Marketing Coordinator Sharon Krantz also is pleased about the event.

“Being in the community and focusing on the community’s needs is what Susquehanna Bank is all about,” Krantz said. “We are very proud that each of our branches get involved and are invested in the success of the drive.”

The humane society is at 13011 Maugansville Road in Hagerstown. For information on animal-related issues, directions to the shelter and information about programs and services, call 301-733-2060 or go to www.hswcmd.org.
