Ebenezer AME Church, 40 W. Bethel St., will hold a Good Friday service Friday at 7 p.m.  

Fish sandwiches and light refreshments will be served. 

Neighborhood group to meet, plans event

The Medal of Honor Group-Neighborhoods 1st Association will meet Thursday, April 4, at 7 p.m. at the Bethel Gardens Community Center.

The group will host an Honoring Our Veterans event Sunday, May 26, at 6 p.m., starting at the Triangle (North Jonathan and Church streets) and continuing at Wheaton Park.

Skating event planned Saturday

The Daughters of Zion Baptist Church will host a gospel skate Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Turner Skate on Virginia Avenue.

Tickets cost $5, which include skates. Tickets will be available at the door.

The facility will have crawling tunnels, bubble pits and other activities.

A food special will be available with a hot dog or slice of cheese pizza and a drink for $2.

Movie night

Bridge of Life Church, 14 S. Potomac St., will hold movie night Saturday at 7 p.m.

The movie, popcorn and drinks are free.

Tobacco classes

Classes for the Tobacco Free for Life Program will be held Mondays and Thursday from 11 a.m. to noon at Washington County Health Department, 1302 Pennsylvania Ave., and from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Western Maryland Hospital Center, 1500 Pennsylvania Ave. The classes will be Monday, April 1, Thursday, April 4, Monday, April 8 and Thursday, April 11.

Susquehanna Bank collecting pet supplies

The Washington County branches of Susquehanna Bank will hold a two-week pet supply drive to benefit the Humane Society of Washington County.

On Monday, April 8, each of the 12 branches will begin collecting a variety of items for the animals in big blue boxes that will be displayed in their lobby.

Some of the branches include Dual Highway, Fountainhead Plaza, Salem Avenue, Halfway and Valley Mall.
