AHA launches Artomatic@Jefferson with April 18 community meeting

March 28, 2013

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. — Artomatic, the destination art event that creates community, builds audience and expands economic development by transforming available space into a playground for artistic expression, is coming to Jefferson County, W.Va.

AHA's first Artomatic@Jefferson Community Meeting will be 6 p.m. Thursday, April 18, in room 112 of the Center for Contemporary Arts, 92 West Campus Drive, at Shepherd University.

AHA! is licensing the Washington, D.C., art event and will produce Artomatic@Jefferson in October 2013, with original art exhibits and events that showcase creative work in visual arts, performing arts, literary arts, music, dance and film.

The month-long feast of artistic endeavor is free and open to the public.

Artomatic events are socially organic and completely open-entry; there are no juries or curators. Artomatic@Jefferson will issue a call for artists in a few months. Emerging and established artists present their work side by side and have the chance to work with and learn from one another.
