Four Hagerstown businesses fined for serving alcohol to underage agent

The Board of License Commissioners for Washington County on Wednesday fined four Hagerstown businesses for serving alcohol to an underage police agent.

Hagerstown Police Sgt. Eric Knode said the alcohol compliance checks were conducted on Feb. 22.

The following businesses were fined:

  • LJ’s & The Kat Lounge, 1130 Conrad Court, fined $500, first alleged offense.
  • The Rhubarb House, 12 Public Sq., fined $500, first alleged offense.
  • Il Castello Ristorante, Pizzeria & Lounge, 501 Liberty St., fined $500, first alleged offense.
  • Sportsmen Den, 223 W. Franklin St., fined $1,000, second alleged offense.

Robert Everhart, chairman of the Board of License Commissioners for Washington County, said the businesses have 30 days to pay the fines. The businesses also have the right to appeal the fines at Washington County Circuit Court.

The following Hagerstown businesses passed alcohol compliance checks on Feb. 22:

  • Hub City Liquors
  • Aqua 103
  • Divi’s Nightclub
  • TGI Friday’s
  • UNO Chicago Grill
  • El Palenque Cantina
  • D & G Liquors
  • Side Pockets
  • Franco’s Cafe & Lounge
