Mullenax appointed new Eagle School Intermediate principal

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — The Berkeley County Board of Education on Tuesday approved Lewis A. Mullenax as the new principal of Eagle School Intermediate beginning July.

Mullenax, a 13-year Berkeley County Schools employee, began teaching fourth grade at Mill Creek Intermediate School. In 2005, he was appointed assistant principal at Tomahawk Intermediate School and has served as principal at Mountain Ridge Intermediate School since 2010.

“I am looking forward to working with the children, families and staff at Eagle School,” Mullenax said in a news release. “Together we can make great things happen.”

Currently working on his doctorate degree, Mullenax received his master’s of educational leadership from West Virginia University in 2005, and his bachelor of arts in early childhood and elementary education from Shepherd University in 1996.

Throughout his tenure with Berkeley County Schools, Mullenax has completed Professional Learning Communities (PLC) training, Safety First-School Emergency and Crisis Management Training, Mentor Teacher Training and attended the Principal’s Leadership Academy and the 21st Century Principal’s Curriculum Leadership Academy.

Awards and affiliations received include: Berkeley County Best Practice In Administrative Strategies Award, Berkeley County Parent Teacher Association Lifetime Member Award, Title I Extended Year Program Teacher/School Coordinator (2003-Current), Former Berkeley County Education Association/West Virginia Education Association Building Level Representative/County Delegate, Berkeley County Principals Association Member and National Elementary School Principal Association Member.
