Bingo event planned for Sunday

St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church will hold a Vera Bradley/31 bingo event Sunday, April 21, at the Clear Spring Volunteer Fire Co.’s Special Events Building. 

The doors open at 11 a.m., the meal will be served at noon and bingo starts at 1 p.m.

Tickets cost $25 per person and include 20 regular games and three special games. There will be raffles, a bake sale and specialty tables.

Homemakers to meet

Clear Spring Homemakers will meet Tuesday, April 2, at 11 a.m. at Windy Hill Restaurant.

The program will be “Family Life and Resources.” There will be a speaker from the Washington County Commission on Aging.

Flower sale

Wilson Ruritan will hold an Easter flower sale Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The flowers will be available at two locations, the Wilson Ruritan Club, one-quarter mile west of Huyetts Crossroads on U.S. 40, and at the M&T Bank in Clear Spring. 

Library news

The Leonard P. Snyder Memorial Library in Clear Spring will hold a Lego Building Club Tuesday, April 2, at 3:45 p.m. Attendees will be given access to Duplos and Legos.

There will be a building challenge, but free building will be allowed.

Also at the library, there will be a book discussion Wednesday, April 3, at 11:15 a.m. The group will discuss the book “The Buddha in the Attic” by Julie Otsuka. Bring a cup and coffee will be provided.

Fishing rodeo planned at Fairview

The annual Fairview fishing rodeo at Claud E. Kitchens Outdoor School at Fairview will be Saturday, April 27, from 8 a.m. to noon.

Prizes will be awarded in each of three age categories: prekindergarten to grade five, grades six to eight and grades nine to 12.

First- through third-place prizes will be awarded for longest trout, longest of any fish but trout, shortest of any fish but trout, and most fish caught of any species.

There is no charge for admission or any activities.

To get to the school, take exit 18 off Interstate 70 at Clear Spring. Go north into Clear Spring on Md. 68 and turn left on U.S. 40. Continue one block and turn right at the traffic light on Martin Street.

At the end of Martin Street, turn right on Broadfording Road and travel approximately 100 yards. Turn left on Draper Road. The entrance to the school is about one-third of a mile from the intersection on the left.
