CHESTERTOWN, Md. —  Two area students were recently inducted into Alpha Psi Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa honor society at Washington College.

Brittany Weaver of Williamsport and Christopher Miller of Middletown, Md., were the inductees.

Omicron Delta Kappa, the national leadership honor society, was founded Dec. 3, 1914, at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Va.

Weaver is majoring in political science and minoring in mathematics. She is a member of the Cater Society of Junior Fellows, Pi Sigma Alpha and is a presidential fellow. A graduate of Williamsport High School, she also serves as the chair of the Honor Board and is on the Student Government Association Executive and Review boards.

Miller is double majoring in Hispanic studies and biology. He is president of both Health Occupation Students of America and Encouraging Respect of Sexuality. A graduate of Middletown High School, Miller is a residential assistant, a volunteer at Chester River Hospital through the college’s externship program and a student supervisor for Alumni Week.



SALISBURY, Md. — The following Washington County students graduated from Salisbury University:

Hagerstown area residents include Danielle Blackford, Master of Social Work.; Caitlin Henney, Bachelor of Arts in international studies; James Hutzler, Bachelor of Arts in communication arts; Deanna Mackey, Bachelor or Science in nursing; Tamara Slayman, Bachelor of Arts in Social Work; and Samantha Wilt, Master of Social Work.

Other area residents include Tanner Holloway of Boonsboro, Bachelor of Science in exercise science; Sunny Harvey of Cavetown, Bachelor of Arts in psychology, magna cum laude; Thomas E. Bellavance, Honors Program; and Hilary Leas of Smithsburg, Bachelor of Science in early childhood education, magna cum laude; Bachelor of Science in elementary education, magna cum laude.
