Ruritan to hold pancake breakfast

The Maugansville Ruritan Club will host a pancake breakfast Saturday from 6:30 to 11 a.m. at its blue building on Maugans Avenue. The all-you-can-eat breakfast includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, sausage gravy, juice, coffee and tea.

The breakfast costs $5.50 for adults, $3 for those ages 6 to 12, and is free for those ages 5 and younger.

There is plenty of free parking, and lines move quickly.

This is the final breakfast until September, and the club thanks all who have attended its fall and winter events.

Longmeadow Lions to hold Friendship Night

The Longmeadow Lions Club will hold Friendship Night at its Thursday, March 28, meeting at Always Ron’s Restaurant, 29 N. Burhans Blvd. at 6:30 p.m. 

Longmeadow members will be inviting friends to the meeting, which will include a program presented by various individuals on the past and present activities of the Longmeadow Lions Club.

Potomac Highland WWII veterans to meet April 3

The Potomac Highland World War II Veterans Committee will meet Wednesday, April 3, at 7 p.m. at Morris Frock Post 42 American Legion, 405 Northern Ave. in Hagerstown.

The scheduled speaker is Leo Fox, a veteran of the U.S. Army.

The monthly meetings are open to the public as well as all World War II veterans and family members.

There is no cost to attend.

Country Western line dance planned

The Hagerstown Country Western Dance Association will hold a line dance for singles and couples Saturday from 7 to 10 p.m. at the former Quincy School gym, 7888 Anthony Highway, Waynesboro, Pa.

The dance is open to the public and the cost is $5 per person.

District 1 Challenger Little League registration

District 1 Challenger Little League will hold registration Wednesday, March 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Maugansville Ruritan Club building on Maugans Avenue.

The league is for physically challenged children between the ages of 5 and 18 years old and is open to children in Washington County.

Two games each week are played at the Maugansville Little League complex.

The season begins Saturday, April 6, and ends July 4.

New players should bring a copy of their birth certificate and proof of insurance to registration.

There is no cost to register.

Film and blood pressure screening set for seniors

Cearfoss Senior Connection welcomes interested seniors to watch the Amish film “The Shunning” Tuesday, March 26, at 10:30 a.m. at Broadfording Church of the Brethren, 14010 Greencastle Pike.

At 12:30 p.m. following the film, blood pressure screenings will be available.

Seniors are invited to attend the events.

Both the film and screenings are free.
