Robert William "Sonny" Stoner Sr., 82, of Daycotah Avenue, Hagerstown, Md., passed away, Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at his home.

Born Wednesday, July 2, 1930, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Daniel Eugene Stoner and Jessie Maude (Koontz) Stoner. He was preceded in death by his wife Doris Jane Stoner in 2004.

He was employed at Fairchild and later employed at Mack Trucks, Inc. Bob had many talents and interests, including aircraft mechanic, pilot, truck driver, carpenter and electronic repairman. He was a member of the U.A.W., A.O.P.A., Civil Air Patrol, Amateur Radio Operator Association., and served in the Merchant Marine. He enjoyed music, playing the organ and square dancing with his wife.

He is survived by his daughters, Cynthia Ann Harbaugh of Hagerstown, and Vicki Jane Caron of Martinsburg, W.Va.; sons, Robert William Stoner Jr. of Seabrook, Wash., and Gary Lee Stoner and his wife, Tong Suk, of Mercersburg, Pa.; granddaughter, Wendy Baker of West Bremerton, Wash., granddaughter, Page "Bobbie" Cummings of West Bremerton; grandson, David Lee Stoner of Mercersburg; grandson, Timothy Wayne Stoner Jr. of Greencastle; granddaughter, Christy Lynn Stoner of Greencastle; grandaughter, Wendy Lee Stoner of Mercersburg; great-granddaughter, Laura Evans of Sandy, Utah; great-granddaughter, Kendra Baker of West Bremerton; great-grandson, Devon Cummings of West Bremerton; great-grandson, Aidan Baker of West Bremerton; great-granddaughter, Cameron Baker of West Bremerton; great-granddaughter, Ciera Stoner of Greencastle; great-granddaughter, Kyra Stoner of Greencastle; great-grandson, Zane Stoner; great-grandson, Zarek Stoner; great-grandson, Aurelius Stoner; sister Peggy Wilson of Hagerstown.

He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Wayne Stoner Sr.; sisters, Blossom Martin, Dorothy Martin and Iona "Peach" Boward; brothers, Warren Stoner and Jack Stoner; and beloved canine friend, Snuggles.

Services will be held Monday, March 25, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, with Pastor Walt Roberts officiating.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, March 24, 2013, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Interment will be at the Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
