Tack and swap sale scheduled Saturday at ag center

The Hagerstown-Washington County Economic Development Commission is partnering with the 4-H Bits and Bridles Horse and Pony Club to host the fifth annual tack and swap sale Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Washington County Agricultural Education Center on Md. 65 (Sharpsburg Pike), about six miles south of Hagerstown.

The free event will feature equine vendors with a full range of horse-related items including clothing, tack, halters, saddles, boots, jewelry, feed and other items. Visitors can barter and bargain with local and regional businesses to purchase equine-related items. 

The following equine lectures and demonstrations will be presented by Justin Sobota of South Mountain Equine:

• 9 a.m. — Tick born diseases

• 10 a.m. — Colic happens, now what

• 11 a.m. — Yoga for the equestrian

• Noon — Yoga for the equestrian

• 1 p.m. — Equine pain points

A concession stand will be available for purchase courtesy of the Blue Ridge Riding Club. All proceeds will benefit the Bits and Bridles Horse and Pony 4-H Club. Vendor registration is still open.
