Lutheran Church forms sewing group

Mount Zion Lutheran Church, at 20214 N. Locust Grove Road, invites the community to join a sewing group that meets one day and one evening a month.

The next sessions will be Tuesday from 9 a.m. to noon and 6:15 to 8:15 p.m.

No sewing skills are necessary. Plenty of jobs are available for volunteers who can cut material, pin pieces and tie quilts together.

Fire company to hold money bingo

Potomac Valley Fire Co. in Dargan will hold a money bingo Saturday, March 16, at 1 p.m. in the fire hall. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. There will be 27 games at a cost of $15. Specials and raffles will be available. The kitchen will be open.

Bilton to speak at library March 20

Kathy Bilton from the Potomac Valley Audubon Society will speak at Sharpsburg Library Wednesday, March 20, at 7 p.m.

Bilton will discuss local spring native and exotic wildflowers and their medicinal uses. The library will also hold an action/suspense movie night Thursday, March 21, at 6:30 p.m. The film is based on a book by a local author. The film won an Oscar for “best picture.” No more hints.

Ruritan to offer oyster dinner

Rohrersville Ruritan will hold an all-you-can-eat oyster, ham and turkey dinner Saturday from 1:30 to 5 p.m. in the Rohrersville Schoolhouse.

Church to hold revival

Mount Briar First Church of God, 4705 Mt. Briar Road in Keedysville, will hold a four-night revival from Sunday through Wednesday at 7 each evening.

Ruritan to hold bingo

The Keedysville Ruritan Club will hold bingo Saturday at the Little Antietam Community Center on Mount Vernon Drive in Keedysville. 

Tickets cost $15 for 25 games, includes five specials and a mystery game.

The baskets will be filled and there will be five games with Thirty-One purses as prizes. Tip jars and raffles will be available. Food will be available from the kitchen. Doors open at 4 p.m. and bingo starts at 6 p.m.
The proceeds will be used for the nonprofit club’s community service activities.

The Washington County Master Gardeners will hold a seed-starting workshop Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. at Washington County Agriculture Education Center, 7303 Sharpsburg Pike.

Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ on Potomac Street in Boonsboro will host a Lenten service Wednesday, March 20, at 7 p.m.

Money bonanza

The Boonsboro Ambulance and Rescue Co. will hold a money bonanza Saturday, April 6, at Boonsboro American Legion. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6.

Tickets cost $35. No one younger than 18 will be permitted.
