Margaret E. Sickler Day, 93, of Lodge of the Wabash in Vincennes, Ind., passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at 4:57 a.m. at the lodge.

Born April 8, 1919, in York, Pa., she was the daughter of Walter and Mary Jane (McGinnis) Sickler.

She married Harry P. Day on March 6, 1943. They were married until his death on June 25, 1995.

Margaret worked in the counseling department at Montclair State College in Montclair, N.J.

She enjoyed the outdoors, reading, flower gardening and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, William H. Day and his wife, Sharon, of Griffin, Ga., Marianne Wharton and her husband, David, of Oxford, Miss., Phyllis Johnson and her husband, Jeffrey, of Vincennes, and Barbara Day of Newton, Mass.; her seven grandchildren, Anne Day Smith and her husband, Stephen, Samuel Day Wharton and his wife, Dena Roberts, Emily Margaret Wharton, Renee Lynne Rerko and her husband, Kent, Gregory Maynard Johnson, Margaret Linn Burdeno and Daniel Raymond Burdeno; two great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and a brother, William Sickler.

Services will be at a later date at Rocky Gap National Cemetery, Cumberland, Md.
