John W. Rohrer, 82

John William "Spunk" Rohrer, 82, of Hagerstown, Md., and formerly of Sharpsburg, Md., passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at Holly Place in Hagerstown.

Born Sept. 15, 1930, in Sharpsburg, he was the son of the late Harry Glenn and Donaline Virginia Eichelberger Rohrer.

He was a graduate of Boonsboro High School in Boonsboro, Md.

He was employed by Fairchild Aircraft and previously by Massey Ford, both of Hagerstown, until retiring in 1988.

In his early years, he was an avid bowler, and enjoyed dirt track and NASCAR racing.

The family extends a heartfelt thanks to the staff at Holly Place for the loving care they gave John for the past two years.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews, in addition to his caring family at Holly Place.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Donna A. DeLauney.

A memorial service will be Sunday, March 17, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Sharpsburg, with the Rev. Karen Erskine-Valentine officiating. Burial will be private.
