A Hagerstown man has been charged with using a handgun to rob Brothers Pizza Express at 1732 Dual Highway on Tuesday, the Hagerstown Police Department said.

Timothy Blaine Ennis, 30, of 2052 Day Road in Hagerstown, was charged with one count each of armed robbery, robbery, theft, reckless endangerment and firearm used in a felony, according to a police department news release.

Police said they were called at 3:40 p.m. Tuesday for a report of an armed robbery at the pizza shop.

When officers arrived, they learned that a man entered the restaurant with a handgun and ordered the employees to give him money from the cash register, police said.

The man fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Officers said a joint investigation with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office determined that Ennis was a suspect.

Police said officers found a handgun when Ennis was taken into custody at his Day Road home at about 1 a.m. Wednesday.
