Name of business: Balance Yoga and Wellness Studio

Owner: Tricia Murray, registered yoga teacher

Address: 11 N. Carlisle St., Greencastle, Pa.

Opening date: Jan 2, 2013

Products and services: Yoga, fitness and wellness classes, including jazz fusion, an adult dance and fitness class, and Masala Bhangra, an Indian dance fitness class; massage and Reiki services

Target market: Women, but there are classes for everyone, including a parent/child class; a men’s class is planned

How did you get into your business, and what motivated you to start it? I was teaching yoga at various locations and the class schedules plus travel became overwhelming to our family life. At the time, I was a stay-at-home mom. So, I was looking to teach out of a single location and realized that Greencastle could use a yoga studio, as well as a place that offers more than yoga.

Previous business experience: I have been teaching yoga for three years, but before that, I was a fitness and wellness coordinator at a retirement community in Hagerstown.
